Network Support Engineer (HPE / Aruba / Cisco) – Brussels, Belgium 

Languages:  ENGLISH with DUTCH / FRENCH

Skills and Experience:

  • University graduate, or a high school technical graduate, in IT.
  • Have an in depth knowledge of IP Networking LAN / WAN / Wireless, IP routing and routing protocols, switching and switch related protocols and also  Enterprise Application flows and protocols.
  • The ideal candidate has experience in Alcatel / Cisco / HPE Routing and switching products and also in HPE / Aruba and Cisco wireless products.
  • The following knowledge is considered as an asset: Cisco Security, F5 load balancers, ClearPass.
  • Professional Vendor Certification is an advantage.
  • Experience: minimum 3 years in a similar support function.

Description of work:

  • General:
    • Responsible for the follow-up of customer’s incidents and problems until resolution.
    • Perform First and second line diagnostics and troubleshooting.
    • Call follow-up with ticketing system
    • Escalation call logging and follow-up with vendors and other 3rd party companies.
    • Ensure correct escalation procedures are followed on all critical customer calls and requests.
    • Liaise with the Help Desk and Consultants to ensure swift resolution of faults.
  • Support:
    • Investigate first and second support calls, identify the root cause of incidents and problems.
    • Develop knowledge of client networks and implement changes remotely.
    • Ensure the efficient and comprehensive resolution of incidents and requests. This could involve ensuring that repairs are carried out by coordinating product requests and liaising with other team members.
    • Report and escalate issues to 3rd party vendors if necessary.
    • Take full ownership for managing the incident to resolution within the service level conditions.
    • Where necessary, escalate requests and exceptions.
    • Provide continuous feedback to clients and affected parties and update all systems and/or portals as prescribed by procedures.
    • Participate on the 24/7 standby support rotation.
  • Incident Management:
    • When required take responsibility receiving calls and incidents at the services desk.
    • Assist in analysing, assigning and escalating the support calls.
    • Provide telephonic support to clients where required.
    • Update incidents with progress and resolution details.
    • Follow the required handover procedures to standby engineer to ensure service continuity.
